Eldiravan

Description

Eldiravans are unique creatures. Resembling humans in shape, they stand upon two feet and have two arms. They have three fingers, one thumb, and four toes. They are very lean and naturally well built creatures with a mentality of staying athletic despite having a near lush lifestyle when not actively serving in the military. They also have four ears, that often move around with expressions. They have unusually long canines that protrude from their mouths. Though they are not very hairy, they have hair in odd places. Aside from the face (for males) and the top of their head, they have an unusual amount of hair growth down the spine that upon meeting the tail bone, flows out into long strands. This tuft of hair is usually well kept and has been seen braided. It is rare to see this tuft of hair that resembles a tail, cut short.

Eldiravans have rough skin that feels coarse like sandpaper. Along side the rough skin, the Eldiravans have a natural defense before they had created armor and suitable weapons. Evolution had prompted them with natural armor and weapons. Long, sharp talons upon their toes and fingers. Sharp teeth perfectly designed to tear flesh with jagged molars to grind down upon food. They also have odd protrusions that appear to be like scales. Unlike their skin, these, sharp scales are smooth with little hooks at the ends. These scales are seen upon the forearms and shins, appearing much like armor. Often times these scales vary in shape and size (Sometimes appearing as spikes, hooked and not hooked) and may be spread out more than the scales upon the forearms and shins, but they may be seen upon areas such as the chest, shoulders, neck, spine, hips, and thighs. They appear to be located in specific areas due to vital organs.

Eldiravans are usually born blind and thus are given optical implants, which are typically a solid color (white), though it can vary depending on their nation.

Their skin is often dark, ranging from browns to greys depending on the amount of sun exposure.

Eldiravan height is also much taller than that of a human. The smallest recorded Eldiravan stood at six feet and eight inches. The tallest recorded Eldiravan stood at thirteen feet and seven inches. However, Eldiravans range from seven feet to nine feet and seven inches for females and ten feet to twelve and six inches for males.

Aside from height, voice, and facial hair, there is no true way to discern a male Eldiravan from a female Eldiravan. Though, the females tend to have thinner waists and larger hips, muscle growth and mass, along with weight is usually about the same for both genders.

Culture

Eldiravans live with a stratocracy. They are military based and ran. To get anywhere in life as an Eldiravan, one would have to be enlisted into the military.

Upon exploring other planets, it has been shown that Eldiravans are xenophobic. They attack all native life wherever they go, however, some appear to have a distinct care for the wild life. This sort of care though would depend on the individual Nation.

Eldiravans believe in pro-reproduction. This would mean that only the strongest would be allowed to have children. To have things simple, only officers are allowed to reproduce sense to become an officer one would have to be a strong soldier with high endurance, a good sense of tactician and charisma with leadership. This also means, they look down upon homosexuality, along with protesters, activists, interspecies relationships, etc.

Eldiravans are extreme in their views and their actions. Things such as disobedience and protesting would have an Eldiravan thrown into a prison where their mentality would hopefully be rehabilitated into a proper Eldiravan mentality. Other things that could not be changed about whom an Eldiravan was, or thought, such as interspecies love and homosexuality would cause an Eldiravan to be publicly executed.

Despite such horrific xenophobic ways, the Eldiravans have a seat within the council and are the chosen ones to handle military relations and actions.

History

Early Periods

The Eldiravans were always a thriving people. Striving for greatness through technology, they searched for ways to not only improve themselves, but the land around them. They were not the only species upon Edoursia. There were animals and other humanoid creatures quite similar to them. This intelligent species, however, had focused more upon military might over technology.

It did not take long for the Eldiravans to monopolize enough land to threaten the other species. With war being waged over land, the Eldiravans were forced to adopt a military standpoint and fight back. They had turned their tools into weapons to kill not the animals, but their brothers.

President Reichardt, enthralled by the force of a military, ordered for their army to be improved. It was under his reign that the Eldiravans were turned from a peaceful people to a global threat.

Reichardt even allowed his children to join the military in hopes they would learn how to better the planet and their people. The oldest, the heir to the presidency, had grown even more enthused over military life than his father. He vowed to better his people when he came to presidency and that was when the Eldiravans had changed even more drastically.

The Beginning of Stratocracy

President Kiichreme, the son of Reichardt, made sure that no one would remember the Eldiravans as having been peaceful and caring about the land around them. He ordered the laboratories to manufacture bigger and more powerful weapons. He improved the physical capabilities of the soldiers and strengthened their military might by improving upon his father's military branches. A navy, an army, an air force. With the ability to fly and to travel across the oceans, along with improved mobility over land, the Eldiravans had turned into a formidable force within two lifespans.

When Kiichreme found out that majority of his heads, the vice president and the heads of the council, had never enlisted nor seen what the front lines were like, had them all removed from their leadership positions and replaced them with the Generals and Colonels of the military.

After Kiichreme

Kiichreme had stirred a lot of trouble during his reign. He had waged war against the other intelligent life, which sparked controversy amongst the Eldiravan civilians. His reign came to an end when he was assassinated by his own people. The General of the army took up his spot and turned his assassination to fuel the fire against the other natives of Edoursia.

General Gaarisk, instilled hate within the people and continued with the military reign as his best friend Kiichreme wanted. He had taken it down the road it was destined for. Denouncing citizenship of all Eldiravans, Gaarisk along with the newfound council of generals and majors, devised a set of laws to improve the quality of life for the Eldiravans.

To become a citizen, an Eldiravan would have to serve in the military branch of his/her choosing, at least four years.

Citizens would receive benefits such as better housing, freedom of travel, the ability to increase in rank (after serving ten years), the freedom to have and to raise children.

During Gaarisk's reigns, the laws had only grown harsher and more strict. Those who protested against the military and the wars were forced to live in poverty. Some of these poverty stricken people had fled the capital city to create their own cities. Outcasted, however, they were eventually hunted down and eliminated.

Gaarisk had even assured all other intelligent life had been eradicated from Edoursia. This allowed for the Eldiravans to spread across the whole of the planet. The Council had soon separated from the Capital, allowing each member to govern his/her own city.

This would eventually spark rivalries that turned into civil wars amongst the Eldiravans. Something that was unpredicted, something the Eldiravans had tried to prevent from ever happening were borders. The Eldiravans all saw one another as brothers and sisters and were to live in harmony with one another no matter their differences. However, with the rivalries stemming from each new city, borders were erected. Each Council Head had turned their city into a Nation and claimed their desired land.

There was respect with the territories, Gaarisk having held meetings for peace to prevent further civil war. With negotiations complete, there was peace for a long time, at least until the end of Gaarisk's rule.

The Rooting of Nations

Presidency had been thrown out to allow only Governors to rule each individual city. However, cities had grown immensely and became too crowded with no way to expand any further. So, Governors allowed for of the rank of Colonel in the military to break away from the capital city and create their own cities. With this form of expansion, some territories become too crowded still, forcing them to corral the wild life just to sustain the ecosystem. Even with this, some of the bigger Nations had to go to war against the smaller Nations.

With smaller Nations consumed by the larger Nations, it was not long before the Eldiravans as a species had to work together as brothers and sisters again to send ships and soldiers from their planet to the neighboring planet. This was the birth of a new branch of the military. Marines. Helped by a strong combination of the Air Force and the Navy, the Eldiravans began to explore space with manned ships instead of satellites and robots. Establishing bases, the Marines created quarries and mines upon new planets to send resources back to their home Nations.

The World War

Many Eldiravans believed it was best to stay upon their own planet and use other planets to fuel their need for resources. Others wanted to relocate their homes and lives upon other planets, wanting the adventure and a new sky. Some Nations explored other planets in search of bountiful resources and also a suitable atmosphere to live on. However, Eldiravans were having a hard time finding a planet with the same compounds as their own. There were no planets within their cluster that had an atmosphere for them, or at least the planets they had already searched had no such atmosphere.

With the differences of views and desires, the Nation Orkalstiil decided to declare war upon Nektair. Nektair had quickly retaliated by wanting to eradicate the bigger threat quickly and before they could be attacked. Launching a series of nuclear missiles along with an air strike, Orkalstiil had been mostly destroyed along with all of its land. This tactic did not only damage Orkalstiil, but harmed the nations around it.

With the destruction of Orkalstiil, other Nations jumped in to get Nektair to cease its actions. This only caused Nektair to attack and bite off more than it could chew. It took a nuclear strike from Hrastashchunye to not only cease the threats from Nektair, but completely wipe them out.

Karshtona used its military force to attack Hrastashchunye to forcefully take away what remained of its nuclear weapons. This sudden feud only caused the other Nations to jump into the war. Some had joined to bring peace and to stop the fighting, while others joined on sides believing either Nation to be in the right for their actions.

While there came a vow to cease the use of nuclear weapons, such a vow was quickly broken after a decade of war. Hrastashchunye had enough of Karshtona and launched an attack. This only caused Karshtona to launch one of its own. The other Nations had followed suit, but not upon the bigger Nations.

This had ended the war, leaving both Hrastashchunye and Karshtona severely damaged. The fallout of the weapons had caused both seen and unseen damage to the planet and the people.

Quick studies had shown the Eldiravans were not going to be able to live upon Edoursia any longer. Now they were forced to abandon the planet, but they had yet to find a new one suitable enough for them.

While they searched for a new planet to call home, the Eldiravans had turned to living mostly underground. The bigger Nations that were able to afford the change, had built massive domes to continue their normal lives.

Their planet was falling apart beneath their feet, however. The Eldiravans were on a time limit and though they had dedicated time to normal lives within their homes, they had thrown even more money into space exploration. Some Nations had even uprooted their cities and turned to living upon massive ships, exploring space that way instead of staying upon the planet.
